and press the ENT key.
(3) Press the Joystick either the right or left until the largest video is shown.
(4) Press the ENT key to fix the setting.
6.2.15 TUNE CAL MANUAL (Manual Tune Preset)
In case you need to make manual tuning, carry out the following procedure.
(1) Open the RADAR menu and select TUNE MANUAL.
(2) Point the cursor on the figures next to the MANUAL sign under the word TUNE
CAL and press the ENY key.
(3) Press the Joystick either the right or left until the largest video is shown.
(4) Press the ENT key to fix.
[Performance Monitor]
Using the performance monitor, the degradation of the transmitter, receiver and the
system characteristics can be determined down to –20 dB, in 5 dB steps, on a 4
notched bar graph.
Before using the performance monitor, run the radar for approximately 30 minutes and
then set the radar controls as follows:
GAIN: Maximum (Fully CW position)
SEA: Minimum (Fully CCW position)
RAIN: Minimum (Fully CCW position)
NOTE:
In the following cases, the performance monitor may function in an erratic way, giving
unreliable result.
(1) Gain, Sea and Rain controls are not set as above.
(2) Other radar set is operating nearby.
(3) Heavy rain or snow.
6.2.16 PM (Using Performance Monitor)
(1) Highlight the OFF sign to the right of letters PM and then press the ENT key.
(2) Press the Joystick to the right to show the letters ON and press the ENT key. The
range scale will be changed automatically to 24 NM and Performance Monitor will
start to function.
(3) The results of the performance check will be shown in a bar graph form on the
lower right part of the screen in the CAL MENU mode display. The tests are carried
out to monitor the transmission, reception and overall system performance
degradation in reference to the initial calibrated state. The calibration notches are
graduated every 5 db, readable down to –20 dB as maximum.
