The

parameter determines whether a first order or second order ALLPASS filter is selected. A

first orderALLPASS filter shifts the phase by 180° and, at the cutoff frequency, by 90°. Asecond order

ALLPASS filter shifts phase by 360° and, at the cutoff frequency, by 180°. Additionally, a second order

ALLPASS filter includes Q which determines the slope of the phase change at the cutoff frequency.

High Q gives a steeper slope than low Q.
