(1) Hand Throttle lever
: fast : Slow

7. Set the hand throttle lever to the
"Slow" position. (In case of cold
weather you may adjust it to "fast"
for easier starting)
8. depress the clutch pedal. (It can-
not be started when the clutch is
not depressed)
9. Insert the key into the key switch
and turn it "oN" and maintain it
until the preheat lamp is turned off
(approx. 8 sec.).
In case of not enough auto pre-
heating, hold the key in "A" (pre-
heat) position for several seconds
for manual pre-heat. during the
same seconds, the pre-heat lamp
on the dash board illuminates.
It is normal that the charge warn-
ing lamp and engine oil pressure

The glow plug lamp comes on
for 8 seconds and then goes off
when the key switch is turned to
the "Start" or "Stop" position.
The engine should be started
within 5 seconds after the glow
plug lamp goes off. After the en-
gine is started, post-heat is per-
formed for 15 seconds with the
key switch in the "oN" position.

The post-heating is a function to
keep the glow plugs activated
for approx. 15 seconds after
the engine is started in order to
enhance the engine combus-
tion performance and to reduce
harmful emissions right after en-
gine start.
NOTE
warning lamps come on when the
key is in "oN" position before the
engine start.
