APPENDIX 15-5

Reverse operation may easily be obtained by easing the pressure on the foot throttle, depressing the clutch, moving the SHUTTLE
SHIFT LEVER to the reverse position and once again applying pressure to the foot throttle. To stop the tractor, depress the clutch
and brake at the same time, move the SHUTTLE SHIFT and TRANSMISSION LEVERS to neutral, lower all equipment. Allow the
tractor to idle for a few minutes, and then turn off the key.

If you are operating your tractor on the road, or are doing field work where the area is clear for long distances, you may set the hand
throttle to the desired speed for the task at hand. Keep in mind that going too fast can be dangerous, and that in an emergency,
you will have to depress the clutch and brakes, then lower the speed of the hand throttle.

One other tip to keep in mind: It is not necessary to operate the tractor at PTO speeds (540 RPM) for most tasks that do not involve
a PTO implement. Choose the speed that best fits the job without taxing the engine too much or wasting fuel running at too-high
speeds.
