Read the operating instructions carefully and ensure they are
understood before use.
This manual is only valid in connection with the sheet "Safety
instructions", which is included with every attachment.
This manual is for the attachment without rotator; see also
the separate manual for the rotator and for any other
equipment in use.
Failure to observe these instructions may lead to accidents,
downtimes, and loss of warranty.

Intended use
The Clamshell bucket (attachment) is for use on truck-mounted cranes or
excavator (carrier).
KM 602, KM 622: For loading sand, gravel, rubble, garbage, wood chips,
snow, and other loose materials, and for loading and unloading vehicles.
KM 604, KM 605, KM 606, KM 626, KM 603, KM 603F, KM 603R, KM607,
C02H, C03H, C05H, C08H, C08F, C08V, C10H, C12H: for building
excavations, for digging piping trenches and pits, and also for loading and
unloading sand, gravel and other loose materials.
KM 605U: Universal bucket with open shells for loading and unloading
goods and bulky material and for digging in loose soils.
Limits of intended use
Do not use for demolition tasks. Do not beat or hammer with the attachment
to break up conglomerate rock or other material. Do not use for compacting
material. Do not shore the carrier on the grab.
With these improper uses, improper bending moments are created that may
damage the attachment.
Lifting and positioning of natural rocks is only allowed, when the rock can be
enclosed by the attachment. Do not hold the rock only by clamping it.
WARNING
Any uses other than as specified are misuse of the product and
can lead to operational disturbances and loss of warranty.
6. Lifting hooks and eyes
Distribute the load evenly among hooks or eyes using a lifting accessory
such as a chain. If the chain or other lifting accessory hangs an angle when
loaded, the angle must be more than 45° from the horizontal axis.
7. Safety sticker:
Max. allowable load
for each lifting eye: 1000 kg.
Always use both eyes simultaneously for lifting.
Installation
Install the attachment to a hydraulic rotator and a cardanic suspension to the
carrier.
The upper suspension must be cardanic so that the load can sway freely. If
the rotator and attachment are prevented from hanging freely, impermissibly
high forces could occur.
Transport
For stability, set down the attachment with slightly open buckets. Fasten the
attachment onto the vehicle securely and in accordance with the operating
instructions for the carrier.

Maintenance
For repair procedures, there is a
Service manual
or
Spare Parts
Catalogue
available upon request.
Strict cleanliness must be observed in all maintenance operations.
Clean grease fittings before greasing.
Increase maintenance intervals to twice as often or daily, for operation of the
attachment under extreme conditions, for example on construction sites with
extreme pollution, night shifts, harsh external influences, or frequent use
under water.

WARNING
Do not operate if there is any damage to the attachment.
Do not weld on the rotator before contacting the manufacturer to obtain
welding instructions and specification of welding materials.
WARNING
If the attachment is not in use for a longer period of time, it should
be stored with slightly opened buckets. Otherwise, increased
internal pressure, caused by the oil‘s expansion due to an
increase in temperature, could cause damage to the attachment.

Clean grease fittings before greasing.
