5.2
Important preliminary mounting
instructions
Please observe the following instructions before mount-
ing the pull-rope emergency stop switch.
5.2.1
General requirements
•
When mounting the device and when in operation,
the requirements set out in EN 1088, particularly
section 5.7 "Design to minimize defeat possibilities",
must be observed.
•
The overall concept for the safety circuit in which the
pull-rope emergency stop switches are integrated
must be validated in accordance with
DIN EN ISO 13849-2.
•
The requirements set out in the technical data must
be met
5.2.2
Substructure, installation location and instal-
lation position
The following requirements with regard to the substruc-
ture and the installation position must be met:
•
The substructure for installation of the pull-rope
emergency stop switch must be even and sound.
We recommend a protected installation location in
order to protect the pull-rope emergency stop switch
from falling bulk materials and against condensation,
melt or rain water.
•
To fix the pull-rope emergency stop switch, two
holes must be drilled as shown in the dimensional
drawing
(see Section 4.6: „Dimensions", page 29)
•
Ensure that the screw type selected to fix the device
to the substructure is suitable for the purpose
Section 4.1: „General technical data", page 21)
.
•
Observe the requirements for the installation loca-
tion and installation position
„Installation location and installation position", page
30)
5.2.3
Mounting conditions
Carry out the entire mounting operation without interrup-
tion under the following conditions:
•
in dry, calm weather
•
in the absence of major dust pollution or dirt
If the mounting operation is interrupted, protect the inside
