Over the last decade, Kia Motors Europe (KME) has expanded the
brand’s appeal in Europe. The European Design Centre underlines this
commitment to the European market and signals our intention to be a
brand that meets and exceeds European customer needs.
Many elements create a world-leading automotive brand but one
essential is outstanding design. To ensure we offer distinctive models
that stand out from the crowd, we appointed top designer Peter
Schreyer as our Chief Design Officer in 2007. His work marks a dramatic
shift in design direction for Kia, immediately identifiable by the new
striking signature grille design that links all new Kia models.
In 2006, Kia Motors Europe opened its headquarters in Frankfurt/Main,
Germany. Kia's R&D Centre in Rüsselsheim, Germany, and its modern car
and engine manufacturing plant in Zilina, Slovakia, fulfill the commit-
ment to exceptional quality. Kia’s first manufacturing site in Europe has
set new standards for vehicle quality and productivity whilst being
recognized for its environmental credentials with an ISO 14001
certificate.
The product quality achieved in this and all other Kia plants gives us
the reassurance to provide each and every Kia with a unique 7-year
manufacturer warranty, clearly differentiating us from not just other
Asian brands, but also domestic European brands.

produced in 13 manufacturing and assembly operations in 8 countries.
