Driving your vehicle Reduction gear
N (Neutral) in vehicle ON/ACC
position
If you want to stay in N (Neutral) when
the vehicle is the ACC or ON state, do
the following.
Operation
僅 Deactivate AUTO HOLD and release
the parking brake when the vehicle is
in ON position.
僅 Depress the brake pedal.
僅 Turn the shift dial to N (Neutral).
僅 Take your foot off the brake pedal,
and the message will appear on the
instrument cluster.
僅 Press and hold the OK button on the
steering wheel for more than 1 sec
-
ond.
僅 Press the EV button after the mes
-
sage appears on the instrument clus
-
ter.
INFORMATION
However, if you open the driver's door
within 3 minutes in ACC position, the
gear will automatically shift to P (Park)
and the vehicle will change to OFF posi
-
tion.
NOTICE
With the gear in N (Neutral), the vehicle
will be in the ACC position. Note that the
doors cannot be locked in ACC position
or the battery (12V) may discharge if left
in the ACC position for a long period.
Shift-lock system
Shift-lock system prevents shifting the
gear from P (Park) into N (Neutral)/R
(Reverse)/D (Drive) or N (Neutral) into R
(Reverse)/D (Drive) unless the brake
pedal is depressed.

僅 ALWAYS check the surrounding areas
near your vehicle for people, espe

cially children, before shifting a vehi

cle into D (Drive) or R (Reverse).
僅 Before leaving the driver's seat,
always make sure the gear is in the P
(Park) position, then set the parking
brake, and place the Power button in
the OFF position. Unexpected and
sudden vehicle movement can occur
if these precautions are not followed.
僅 Shifting into P (Park) while the vehicle
is in motion may cause you to lose
control of the vehicle.
僅 After the vehicle has stopped, always
make sure P (Park) gear position is
selected., apply the parking brake,
and turn the vehicle off.
僅 Do not use the P (Park) position in
place of the parking brake.
