Lighting

Headlamp delay function

If you place the ignition switch or 
ENGINE START/STOP button in the 
ACC or OFF position with the head

-

lamps ON, the headlamps (and/or 
parking lights) remain on for about 5 
minutes. However, with the engine 
off if the driver's door is opened and 
closed, the headlamps (and/or park

-

ing lights) are turned off after 15 
seconds.

The headlamps (and/or parking 
lights) can be turned off by pressing 
the lock button on the remote key 
or smart key twice or turning the 
light switch to the OFF or AUTO 
position. However, if you turn the 
light switch to the AUTO position 
when it is dark outside, the head

-

lamps will not be turned off.

You can activate or deactivate the 
Headlamp Delay function from the 
User Settings Mode in the LCD dis

-

play. For more details, refer to "User 
settings mode" on page 4-108. If 
your vehicle is equipped with addi

-

tional navigation, please refer to the 
infotainment system manual sepa

-

rately supplied.

NOTICE

If the driver exits the vehicle 
through another door besides the 
driver door, the battery saver func

-

tion does not operate and the head

-

lamp delay function does not turn 
OFF automatically.
This may cause the battery to dis

-

charge. To avoid battery discharge, 
turn OFF the headlamps manually 
from the headlamp switch before 
exiting the vehicle.

Daytime Running Light (DRL) (if 
equipped)

The Daytime Running Light (DRL) 
can make it easier for others to see 
the front of your vehicle during the 
day.

The DRL can be helpful in many dif

-

ferent driving conditions, and it is 
especially helpful after dawn and 
before sunset.

The DRL will turn the dedicated 
lamp OFF when:
䳜 Position & Taillamp switch is on.
䳜 The vehicle is off.
䳜 The front fog light is on. (if 

equipped)

䳜 Engaging the parking brake.

Lighting control
