Purchase acceptable ESD accessories from your local supplier.
– Conductive table-mat and wrist-strap combination.
– Conductive floor-mat and heel-strap combination.
Both types, when used together, provide a significant level of ESD protection. Of the two,
only the table-mat and wrist-strap combination provides adequate ESD protection when
used alone. To ensure user safety, the static-safe accessories must provide at least 1
Ω of
isolation from ground.
Inspect the module for damage
After unpacking the M9217A, carefully inspect the unit for any shipping damage. Report
any damage to the shipping agent immediately, as such damage is not covered by the
warranty. The warranty also does not cover:
– Damage from contamination
– Normal wear and tear of mechanical components
– Manuals or fuses
(Warranty information can be found at the beginning of this manual.)
WARNING
These techniques for a static-safe work station should not be used when working on
circuitry with a voltage potential greater than 500 V.
CAUTION
To avoid damage when handling a module, do not touch exposed connector pins.
