M5201A PXIe Downconverter Modules Startup Guide

Setting up the M5201x software

3.4.2: Installing M5201A module firmware updates

Prerequisite

The Keysight M5201x software must be installed to update your module

firmware.

Downloading the Firmware

The latest firmware for the M5201A module is included in the Keysight

M5201x software package.

Modifying the Firmware

To update the FPGA firmware, you may follow the steps defined in the

previous section.

Based on your programming requirements, you may either upgrade or

downgrade the Firmware version on an M5201A module, using the SW

driver APIs or the M5201x SFP. The APIs to perform firmware update are

defined in the Online Help of the respective programming language you

may be using. The steps to perform firmware update using the SFP are

given below.
1 Launch the Keysight M5201x SFP software from the

Start

menu.

2 From the main menu of the M5201x software, click

Utilities

Firmware Update...

NOTE

Currently, the firmware version on the M5201A modules is up-to-date.

The next firmware version will be available in the next release of the

M5201x software.
