You can quickly measure the DC component of the waveform by

simply noting its distance from the ground symbol.

Blocks the DC component of the input waveform and passes

the AC component. See

This lets you use greater sensitivity (amplitude/div settings) to

display the AC component of the waveform.

The waveform is disconnected from the oscilloscope input.
