4. Installation and assembly
Changes in direction should be carried out by means of cur-
ved fittings with a maximum bend of 30°.
Caution:
Up to their final connection, all pipes should be
temporarily sealed with adhesive tape to prevent the ingress
of dirt while the pipes are pushed through.
Remark:
The tanks may be drilled open in the area of the domes to
produce additional connecting and ventilation lines. For this,
original drill bits and pipe duct seals by KESSEL must be
used (KESSEL drill bits DN 50 - DN 150, item No. 50100,
KESSEL pipe duct seals:

DN 70 item No. 850116
DN 100 item No. 850117
DN 125 item No. 850118
DN 150 item No. 850119
Drilling should be carried out on surfaces that are as plane
as possible.
To provide an optimum seal for the drilled hole, the clearan-
ce between the edge of the drilled hole and uneven contour
should amount to at least 15 mm so that the seal circumfe-
rentially butts evenly against the drill hole.
• Ventilation
Plants with closed cover are aerated and ventilated via the
penstock of the drainage plant. An additional ventilation line
in DN 100 can be connected to the dome. For this purpose,
the appropriate drill bit and pipe duct seal by KESSEL must
be used (see illustration page 5). KESSEL recommends the
use of an activated carbon filter to avoid any unpleasant
odours.
4.8 Laying the connecting lines to the control unit
(ventilation hose and control line)
The control line and the ventilation hose must be laid in the
cable conduit between valve block and control unit (see-
Procedure)
Procedure:
- Open the locking bracket on the valve block inside the tank
- Remove the valve block from the adapter plate
- Pull the grey ventilation hose and control line through the
cable conduit
- Connect the ventilation hose on the valve block using a
quick-action coupling (see 4.11 Point 5)
- Insert valve block on adapter plate

Caution:
Control line must be clipped into the lug provided
for that purpose (see illustration) to ensure a correct locking
with the adapter plate.
- Check valve block for correct seat and close the locking
lever
4.9 Assembly of the attachment pieces
First of all, place the seal (see drawing 4.9) into the bead pro-
vided inside the dome.
