3. Cleaning / Maintenance
ATTENTION
Always unplug pump before any work is un-
dertaken on the pump.
Regular cleaning of the exterior of the pump
assures proper operation as well as the ma-
ximum possible pump performance. The
float switch should also be kept clean and
free of debris in order to assure proper ope-
ration.
The suction basket (base of pump) assures
that no solids or unwanted matter enters the
pump’s rotating impeller.
ATTENTION
Never disassemble the pump (this work
should only be handled by the manufacturer
or a service company). Improper work on
the pump could damage the sealing gasket
which may cause oil to leak out of the pump
(valid only for KTP 500).
In order to clean the impeller first unscrew
the suction basket and remove. The impel-
ler can now be cleaned and freed from any
debris. Clean the intake area of the pump
and rinse with clean water.
In accordance with regulations concerning
wastewater systems, the KESSEL KTP 300,
500 and GTF 1000 may not be used to pump
wastewater containing raw sewage or
flammable or explosive fluids.

electrical protection measures are in place:
