3.3.1. The device is put in place
Make sure that the underground is even and dry and that no easily ignitable objects are in the immediate vicinity of the device. The
site of installation should likewise be beyond the reach of children.
For smooth functioning it is important that the device is
set up so that insects can fl y unimpeded toward the light from both sides. Other sources of light and drafts have a
negative affect on the effectiveness of the UV light.
3.3.2. The device is suspended
Choose the site with care. Other sources of light and drafts have a negative affect on the effectiveness of the UV light. Make sure
that the chains are fi rmly attached to the device. Install the insect killer between 1.5 und 3.0 m above the ground.
Caution: Do not hang outdoors!
3.4. Servicing
3.4.1. Cleaning
Switch the device off and pull the power plug before cleaning.
Empty the drip pan on a
regular basis.
When doing this, pull it carefully out of the housing. The pan can then be
rinsed with water. Let it dry before reinserting. The protective screen, the high-voltage
screen and the UV lamps can be cleaned with a dry cloth or with a brush.
3.4.2. Exchanging the lamps
Before exchanging the lamps, switch the On/Off switch to “Off” and pull the mains plug.
Remove the drip pan. Now unscrew the two top screws on both side sections. Remove
the side sections by pulling them down. Now fl ip the protective screen to the front.
Remove the lamp(s) carefully from the socket and insert the new lamp(s). Carefully close
the housing again.
Danger, high voltage:
Do not re-plug into the power source until reassembly is com-
plete!
3.4.3. Exchanging the starters
Before exchanging the starters, switch the On/Off switch to “Off” and pull the mains plug.
Remove the drip pan. Now unscrew the two top screws on both side sections. Remove
the side sections by pulling them down. Now also remove both side screws in order to
dismantle the lid. Remove the lid. By turning the starters they can easily be exchanged.
Insert the new starters and affi
x them by turning slightly. Seating is correct when you
hear them snap (click) into place. Carefully close the housing again.
