3. VENTILATION
Do not operate the heater in a room smaller that 86.4m³.
This is approximately 6m L x 6m W x 2.4m H. Ensure that
when the heater is operating there is a window which is at
least 60cm (600mm) wide open to outdoors by at least 2cm
(20mm).
Adequate ventilation must be provided in any room in
which the heater is used. Never seal up the doorways and
windows. This ensures dilution of the products of combustion
and allows for the entry of fresh air. This should considerably
reduce the possibility of condensation occurring and also
provide a more pleasurable environment in your room.
4. SAFETY GUARD
• The guard over the burner tiles on this heater is to prevent
the risk of fire or injury from burns and no part of it should
be permanently removed.
• Use of a fireguard is recommended when used in the
presence of persons who require supervision or who are
unfamiliar with its operation, or in public spaces.
Caution:
• The guard still gets very hot and will cause injury if
touched.
• It does not give full protection for young children or the
infirm.
5. CHANGING OF CYLINDERS
• Never change cylinders in the presence of a naked flame.
Change the LPG cylinder in a well-ventilated area, and
away from any ignition source (candle, cigarettes and so
on).
• Take the heater outside and remove the rear panel. Lift out
the cylinder and place it on the ground next to the heater.
Unscrew the regulator hand wheel nut in an anti-clockwise
direction.
• Before connecting the refilled cylinder, check that the bull
nose seal on the regulator is undamaged and in good
condition. If in doubt take the regulator to a gas dealer to
be checked.
• Connect the refilled cylinder and check for any gas leaks
as described in section E on page 3.
• If there are no leaks, fit the cylinder into the rear of the
heater body making sure that the cylinder is placed in such
a manner that the hose is not trapped or kinked in any
way.
• Fit the heater rear panel to the heater by engaging the
clips.
IMPORTANT:
Use only in a well ventilated room. You require
at least 105cm³ ventilation.
6. CYLINDER SIZES
The model KCH205-002 is designed for 9.0kg LPG
Cylinders.
7. LEAK WARNING
Should you suspect that the heater is leaking, turn OFF the
cylinder valve and contact your local Gas Fitter or LPG
Service Agent.
8. SERVICING & MAINTENANCE
• Depending on the usage, the heater should be serviced by
a qualified LPG Service Agent at least every 12 months.
This will ensure a safe and enjoyable winter heating
system.
• Please ensure that the heating elements are kept free from
dust and dirt. DO NOT interfere with safety devices, ie.
Pilot Devices.
• Check that the regulator seal is undamaged when fitting a
cylinder.
• Always check that the hose is in good condition before use
and that it is securely clamped to the appliance and to the
regulator.
• It is recommended that the hose be replaced every 2 years
whether it has been used or not. When replacing the hose
make sure that it is a proper hose for use with LPG. These
are available from your local LPG Service Agent. When
replacing the hose always replace the hose clamps at the
same time.
• With the exception of the hose and regulator there are no
user fitted parts available for this heater. Should the heater
not function properly, have it checked by your LPG Service
Agent and should replacement parts be required he / she
will ensure that the correct parts be supplied and fitted in
the proper manner.
• When not in use for extended periods disconnect the
cylinder and store it outside away from buildings but
covered up to keep it clean. Store the appliance in a dry
place and covered up to protect it from dust.
• To clean the appliance wipe the exterior with a damp
cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Never immerse the
appliance in water or use water to clean the radiant heater
elements. If the elements appear dusty then clean them
using a soft brush or very carefully with a vacuum cleaner.
