The batteries ensure that the ball valve closes
properly during backwashing in case of a
power failure. The batteries are not included
in the scope of delivery.
1. Pull the mains plug
2. Unscrew the housing screws and take
off the housing cover
3. Insert the batteries (4 AA batteries,
1.5 V, LR 6 alkaline-manganese)
4. If necessary, replace the fuse
5. Assemble in the reverse sequence

When the batteries are inserted, do not pull the mains plug out of the socket-
outlet for a long time period.
According to DIN EN 806-5, a backwash must
be performed latest every six months. The
backwash intervals depend on the pollution
level of the water. A backwash interval of
45 days is set as standard. To maintain the
drinking water hygiene in the filter element,
Kemper recommends backwashing latest
every 60 days.
Setting other intervals
1. Select the desired interval in Table 1 on
the housing imprint.
2. Press Program Button 2 until the selec-
ted program appears in Display 3.
3. Display 5 shows the number of perfor-
med backwashes. The counter can be
reset by briefly pressing Reset Button 4.
Service information on backwashing
Simultaneously press Program Button 2
and Reset Button 4 (keep pressed for 5 s)
to show the remaining time until the next
program-controlled backwash in Display 3
and the related time unit in Display 5.
(0= Minutes, 1= Hours, 2= Days).
After a power failure, a backwash process
is automatically triggered when the mains
current is restored. The set timeprogram and
the counter status remain stored.
Push Reset Button 4 to reset Counter 5 to 0.
Remove the two bolts from the drive, hold on
to them and rotate the drive 90°.
After approx. 25 seconds, rotate back to the
home position and screw on.
