Perform the following steps if you wish to check and/or change parity:
a.
Place the cursor on PARITY and press ENTER to display the parity options
(NONE, ODD or EVEN). Cursor position indicates the present setting. To
retain the present setting, press ENTER or EXIT.
b.
To change parity, place the cursor on the desired selection and press ENTER.

Perform the following steps if you wish to check and/or change the number of stop
bits:
a.
Place the cursor on STOP and press ENTER to display the available number of
stop bits (1 or 2). Cursor position indicates the present setting. To retain the
present setting, press ENTER or EXIT.
b.
To change the number of stop bits, place the cursor on the alternate selection
and press ENTER.

Use the EXIT key to back out of the menu structure.
Common commands
Common commands are common to all IEEE-488 devices on the bus. The following infor-
mation summarizes the common commands that are used most often. For complete
details, refer to Section 3 in the User’s Manual.
*CLS
(clear status)
Clears all event registers and Error Queue. After clearing an event register, you can moni-
tor the register for a bit to set, indicating that an event (such as the buffer becoming full)
has occurred.
*RCL <NRf>
(recall)
Returns the instrument to the instrument setup saved at the specified memory location.
Example: To recall the setup saved at memory location 0, send
*RCL 0
.
*RST
(reset)
Returns the instrument to the *RST defaults and places the instrument in the idle state
(ARM indicator off).
