● The upper tool must be magnetic so that KeMes A2xx can be installed
on it.
● KeMes A2xx must lie flat on the upper tool.
● The upper tool must have a gap so that the laser beam can reach the
workpiece unobstructed. This gap in the upper tool causes bending
marks on the workpiece. If these are not acceptable, honing tools or
special tools with a machined slot must be used.
For the installation of KeMes A2xx on the upper tool, proceed as follows:
1) Create a gap of approx. 6 mm in the upper tool of the press brake.
2) Attach KeMes A2xx so that the laser beam can penetrate the gap unob-
structed and hit both legs of the workpiece at an angle of 90°.
3) Align the device symmetrically using the centering mark.

Information
For a correct measurement result, the device must be attached in parallel
to the bending edge and is allowed to be mounted only on vertical surfaces.
The vertical position on the upper tool (distance to the bending edge) and
the offset of the tool determine the measurable angle range and the neces-
sary minimum leg length for a valid measurement. For more information, see

If assembly on a vertical surface is not possible (e.g. for long, pointed tools
or for use on swivel bending machines), the device can be mounted on an
angled surface and the parameter
MSymRefl
can be set to Off . If the laser is
already switched on when the workpiece is inserted, invalid measurement
results may be displayed due to reflections during the insertion process.
The device has now been installed on the upper tool, and a manual mea-
surement can be executed.
