Special Functions

The special function menu (

SPECIAL

) contains some useful tools for describing the SAT,

TV or CATV installation beyond the signal reception. The content of this menu depends on
the last measurement performed by the user: If the user has performed a SAT measure-
ment, for example, all tools related to a satellite installation are shown in the special func-
tion menu. If the user has performed a TV or CATV measurement, tools related to TV or
CATV are displayed in the special function menu.

SAT Special Functions

Using the satellite special functions, tests and measurements can be performed on spe-
cial satellite antenna configurations such as dual LNB, SCR or rotary-motor satellite
antennas:

SAT SCR

Satellite Channel Router

(SCR/dCSS) is a special protocol with up to 32 RF outputs that is

typically used for central building installations and allows the connection of up to 32 dif-
ferent receivers (decoders) to one cable. Each user (RF output) is assigned a specific UB/
frequency on which the satellite channels are down-converted before being sent to the
receiver (see also
