voltage is lower than 10 V. If mains input is
not available, then the body battery has to be
charged using the vehicle's generator in due
time. Check the body battery level using the
control panel.
Use every opportunity during your vacation to
charge the battery using the installed charging
device (mains input). You can check the body
battery level using the control panel. If the
charge level is not monitored, the body battery
is not recharged and the consumers are left
running, then the body battery could be totally
discharged. This could result in damage or
destruction of the battery!
Total discharge protection
An electronic control unit switches all 12 V
consumers off if the body batteries have a
voltage lower than 10 V. It is possible to switch
the consumers on for approximately one minute
using the main switch on the control panel.
The fridge, the electric step and the consumers
supplied directly by the body battery are
excluded from this system.
Totally discharged body batteries can be
damaged or destroyed and result in
malfunctioning or failure of the electrical
system. Therefore please adhere to the
handling notes on the body batteries and the
following instructions:
• Always start your journey with fully charged
body batteries.
• Body batteries with acid contents are low-
maintenance. Nevertheless, you should
check the acid level on a regular basis.If
under the minimum line, fill the battery with
distilled water up to the fill line. Gel batteries
are maintenance-free.
• Check the battery level using the control
panel on a regular basis.
Achtung
Installation of unsuitable batteries can
cause explosion. Battery acid is highly
poisonous and corrosive. Therefore
please adhere to the handling notes on
the body batteries and the following
instructions:
• Only have body batteries replaced by
an authorized specialist repair shop.
• Never use starter batteries as body
batteries.
• Always wear gloves and protective
goggles when handling batteries.
Caution
Body batteries
The 12 V system is supplied by one or two
body batteries depending on the motorhome.
The body battery is charged by the vehicle's
generator during travel and by the charging
device when the vehicle is connected to a mains
input. The charging device provides 10 or 16 A
charging current. You have to charge a single
body battery for approximately 12 hours and
two body batteries for approximately 24 hours
to fully charge them. The distribution module
switches off all 12 V consumers if the battery
