TROUBLESHOOTING
Although the MS48IP exchange does not contain units that can be serviced directly by
users, it might be useful for the user to check out the following issues in case of certain
problems, in order to find out the source of the problem and so increase the speed of
the technical service to be presented, or in order to solve some simpler problems
quickly in advance.
The information presented here has been intended for the people who are authorized
to install or maintain the exchange. Any intervention of unauthorized people to the
exchange in any way shall not only mean violation of the warranty terms of the
exchange, but such actions might also bear several environmental safety risks.
Problem Remedy
1) No dial tone and side tone to
any extension of the exchange. Make sure that the power connection of the
exchange has been made correctly and the outlet
which is supposed to feed the exchange actually
supplies power! If all those seem to be alright, then
the power supply module may have to be replaced.
2) No access to lines.
Error tone is received.
Make sure the programs related to lines and
extensions have been entered correctly!
3) Silence is received upon
accessing to lines. Make sure the line cables have been connected
correctly and the connected lines work properly! For
that purpose, connect a telephone set directly to the
line and check whether a tone is received through
that phone!
4) One of the extensions does
not receive dial tone. First of all, change the telephone set of the extension
and check whether the problem arises from the
telephone set! If there seems to be no problem with
the phone, then the exchange card has to be
replaced.
5) An extension cannot dial
numbers. By changing the telephone set of the extension,
check if the problem arises from the telephone set! If
there seems to be no problem with the phone, then
the exchange card has to be replaced.
