Adjusting the sweeping
roller and the outrigger
broom

n

Set up sweeping roller by means of adjusting bolt so that
when the unit is stationary it achieves a uniform sweeping
pattern that is 30–40 mm wide. (A)

Method:
For test purposes, scatter fine dust evenly over a flat surface.
Then lift the unit at the front, and set it down on the prepared
surface. Lock the parking brake in position, and run the engine for
approximately 15–30 seconds. Next, lift the unit at the front again,
and drive it off to the side. The sweeping pattern will now be
visible, and if it has been set up correctly, it will be approximately
30–40 mm wide.

n

Adjust outrigger broom by means of Bowden cable so that
1/3 of its circumference is in contact with the floor. (B)
Method is same as described above.

The plate filter captures the dust that is thrown up by the
brushes.
Replace the filter, if
– operating the filter shaker does not provide the desired

results.

n

Remove 2 locking rings (A) on shaker bar, and withdraw
bar.

n

Remove 5 hex-socket bolts (B).

n

Remove metal frame, and withdraw filter.

n

Fit new filter in reverse order of action.

The sealing strips fulfil an important function. The partial
vacuum that builds up under the sweeper around the brush
roller is essential if the unit is to function effectively. The
sealing strips ensure that this negative pressure is retained,
and the sweeper can therefore function without creating large
amounts of dust.
Sealing strips that are damaged or worn out should be
replaced immediately.

n

Stop sweeper, and switch OFF motor.

n

Remove Phillips screws (front sealing strip), and detach
sealing strips.

n

Attach new sealing strips and adjust position correctly:
– Adjust side sealing strips so that they clear ground by 1–

2 mm.

– Adjust front and rear sealing strips so that they are bent

backwards by 10–15 mm when sweeper is travelling
forwards.

n

Tighten Phillips screws.
