B. Check the ambient temperature of the room. The ambient temperature may be higher
than needed. To check the temperature variation between the room and heat mat, place a
thermometer on the heat mat and a thermometer on the floor. After 5 minutes, adjust the
thermostat to lower or raise the heat mat temperature so the animal will return to the mat.
CLEANING AND HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS:
Disconnect appliance from electrical power source before cleaning the
heat mats
.
DO NOT
pick-up heat
mats by the electrical cord. This may cause damage to the power cord and heating element.
THE POWER
CORD IS NOT A HANDLE.
Heat mats may be safely high pressure washed, brushed, and disinfected. Heat mats should be thoroughly dried
after washing and kept as dry as possible during operation. Mats may be sealed to cement floors by using a
caulking compound or silicone-based bead around the outer edge during installation. The silicone gum rubber or
caulking compound around the edges of the mat will prevent collection of residue and moisture under the mat.
The mats can also be removed to sanitize the floor and entire mat after each cycle of use. Be sure to polish the
spades and plug on the electrical cord to ensure proper electrical connections.
