M-Bus Slave address
The address of the M-Bus Slave is formed
by the MULTICAL
®
’s customer number
– supporting both primary and secondary
addressing.
Primary addressing:
It is a requirement to the M-Bus address
that it must be a number between 001 and
250. If the last 3 digits of the MULTICAL
®
’s
customer number exceed 250, the most
significant digit is removed.
MULTICAL
®
numbers which cannot be
used: 000, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700,
800, 900. If the last three digits are one
of these figures it must be changed by
means of MULTITERM or METERTOOL.
Example:
MULTICAL No.
M-Bus address
704018 018
704118 118
704218 218
704318 018
704000 not
permitted
704300 not
permitted
704900 not
permitted
704999 099
If two M-Bus Slaves have the same
address, they will reply simultaneously.
Their data will thereby collide and be
damaged. The conflict is solved for both
primary and secondary addressing by
changing the customer number of one
MULTICAL
®
by means of MULTITERM,
or METERTOOL.
Secondary addressing:
The secondary address is formed by the
3–8 last digits giving an address from
00000001
¨
99999999. Please note
that Kamstrup software PcM-Bus and
Kamstrup M-Bus Master do not support
secondary addressing.
