Carefully unpack the grill and remove all packaging.
When using for the first time, wipe the surface of the plates with a damp cloth, then wipe dry.
Place on a heat resistant surface. Make sure the appliance is closed, plug the appliance in and
let it preheat.
Protective coating burn off might result in smoke and a slight odor on first use. However,
this does not indicate any defect of the appliance. After about 30 seconds the smoke will
disappear and you will be able to use the appliance normally. This smoke is NOT harmful.
Place on a heat resistant surface. Make sure the appliance is closed, plug the appliance in
and let it preheat.
The red light (3) will go on to indicate that the appliance is plugged in and that it is heating.
The green pilot light (4) will light on when the cooking temperature is reached (usually
after 4-5 minutes)
When the appliance has reached the desired temperature, open it and lightly brush the
grids with butter, margarine or cooking oil to avoid that the foods stick to the plates. The
use of a non-stick oil cooking spray is recommended for best results.
Put the foods in on the grill plate. Make sure the foods are not too thick, so that you can
close the appliance. Do NOT force shut.

Note: During cooking, the green light will go on and off. It is normal and indicates a
proper function of the thermostat regulating the temperature of the appliance.
Caution: during the operation, the appliance becomes hot. Be careful as you might get
burned. Please only use the handle to manipulate the appliance. Wear oven mitts. Avoid
touching the housing and never touch the cooking plates with your bare hands.
The cooking time will depend on the type of food you are grilling. To avoid burning the
food, check regularly during the cooking process by opening the lid with the handle.
Always remove the food using a plastic or wooden spatula. Never use a metal knife or
utensils as this may damage the non-stick coating. Do not use your bare hands to avoid
scalding.
When grilling is finished, unplug the appliance and leave it open to allow it to cool down.

Note: Some steam might be produced from between the plates; make sure that fingers
do not come into contact with it.
!! TO AVOID SCALDING, WAIT UNTIL THE APPLIANCE HAS TOTALLY
COOLED DOWN BEFORE CLEANING OR STORING AWAY.
