2.1.3.2 Safety categories
Protective sensors S2 and S3
Safety sensors S1 and S4
The protective and safety features comply with the
identi cation and detection level required for safety
category 2.
Safety category 2
Suitable for public areas. Passage area monitored
by protective sensors S2 and S3 and safety sensors
S1 and S4, in an optimised arrangement. Raised
level of monitoring for individual passages in both
directions.
2.1.3.3 Notes on use of the sensors
Sensors in V-shaped and vertical arrangement
Thanks to the arrangement of the sensors, children
smaller than 950 mm can be detected, as can trol-
leys and pieces of luggage.
2.2
Danger from inadequate
protective equipment/incorrect
use
2.2.1 Risk
assessment
DANGER
Risk of injury with insuf cient protective
equipment
The risk of injury e.g. from being trapped or
hit, largely depends on two factors:
User group
(e.g. age, health, brie ng on use of the
system)
Protective equipment/sensor technology
(contact/non-contact)
Before placing an order, a
risk assess-
ment on the project must
be carried
out and the sensory technology required
deduced from this.
