PRE -FILTER SE TTING S
Level Mode
Select
Single Floor
to auto level and rotate the point cloud. Select
None
if you do not want to auto level or if the file has already been
leveled and you are running this tool multiple times on the slices to
vary the cleaning parameters.
Mean K
Calculates the average distance of each point to its neighbors.
Removal of outliers are based on this k-nearest neighbor number.
Search Radius
The search radius around a point to include when calculating the
normals for that point. The default is 0.20 meters.
F ilter
You can apply filters to your pointcloud that will eliminate unwanted data calculated in
the previous Pre-Filter step (see Pre-Filter on page 81). The resultant point clouds have
the extraneous data stripped out from the original source data.
There are four filters that can be applied,
Kaarta Filters 1-4
(Figure 59). Adjustments can
be made to each of the four filters by editing the thresholds. In general, lower thresholds
get rid of
more
points and higher threshold remove
less
points.
There are also a variety of options for removing specific fields from your point cloud, if
they were calculated or generated (all may not be present). These fields include:
Extra
(duplicate),
Planarity
,
Normal
,
Intensity
,
Time
,
or
Color.
If you make changes to any default settings, you will be prompted to either save the
changes as a new preset or use the temporary setting to discard the values after usage.
See Temporary Setting on page 67 and Create a New Preset on page 67 for more details.
Note:
You must use Pre-Filter prior to Filtering your data, for best
results.
