OPERATION

Over the next few pages we will cover operation the sidescan. We will begin with “Sample Playback”
where the user will playback a prerecorded file and then do an actual sidescan “in the water” Sample
Recording.

For the sample Playback only the computer with the loaded Sonar View software is needed. A
sample file is provided as part of the software.

For the Sample Recording, a complete “cabled up” system is required: Fish, Sonar Processor, and
Computer with loaded Sonar View software (your GPS is optional). For your first time out pick an
easy body of water. The ideal location would be in a calm body of water 20 to 30 feet deep. It could
be in a lake, slow moving river, or in a harbor or a bay area of the ocean.
