DBS Receiver Multi-Brand
Remote Control
The VCR's remote control can control functions on the brands
of DBS (Direct Broadcast Satellite) receivers listed below.
TURN ON THE DBS
RECEIVER

Turn the power on using the DBS receiver’s remote
control.
SET REMOTE CONTROL
MODE

Set the VCR/TV/CABLE/DBS switch on the VCR's
remote control to CABLE/DBS.
ENTER DBS RECEIVER
BRAND

While holding down POWER on the VCR's remote
control, use the NUMBER keys to enter the DBS receiver
brand number from the chart below and then press STOP .
Follow the example shown at bottom right.
Check if the DBS reciever's power goes off as it should.
If it does, try other operations (
Z
step 4 ).

Once you have set the remote control to operate the
DBS receiver, you don't have to repeat this step until
you replace the remote control's batteries.
OPERATE DBS RECEIVER

Press the corresponding button: POWER , TV PROG +/– ,
NUMBER keys.

Depending on the DBS receiver you may have to
press
ENTER after having pressed the NUMBER keys.
●
To change the DBS receiver's channel, press TV
PROG +/– or the NUMBER keys. (The CH +/– button
can be used to change the VCR's channel only.)
●
To return the remote to VCR control, set the VCR/TV/
CABLE/DBS switch to VCR.
(Ex.) To set remote control to RCA 40:

NOTES:
●
Depending on the kind of DBS receiver, there may be cases
where some or all functions cannot be operated using the
remote control.
●
Though ECHOSTAR has a number of different remote codes,
this remote control is applicable only to one of those codes
preset at the factory.
●
It's not possible to set the remote control for both your cable
box and your DBS receiver at the same time; you can only set
the remote control to the brand of either one.
●
You have to subscribe to a satellite broadcaster to receive
DBS channels.
