Recording from a Disc
You can record tracks from a disc onto the USB mass
storage class device connected to the USB MEMORY 2
terminal.
• Do not vibrate the System while recording/editing tracks.
Take care especially while “WRITING” is shown on the
display. It may damage the recorded tracks.
Before recording....
• Connect a recordable USB mass storage class device to
the USB MEMORY 2 (
) terminal. (See also page 6.)
• For SVCD/VCD: cancel PBC. (See page 13).

Start and stop playback of the disc.

Select the first track you want to record.
The System records from the
track to the last.

Activate the recording mode.

Select a group to record the tracks into.
• If “FORM GRP” is selected, the System will
automatically create the new group. When you want
to create a new group, select “FORM GRP.”
• If you want to give a name to the new group before
recording, see “To Give a Name to New Group” on
page 38.

• You can also divide a continuous recording into several
tracks by adding track marks.

(Manual Mark)
Track mark is recorded when you
press ENTER/SET while recording.
T. MARK
(Time Mark)
Track mark is recorded every 5
minutes.
A. MARK
(Auto Mark)
Track mark is written when 3-
second interval is detected. (You can
also record track marks by pressing
ENTER/SET.)
