Cables Connecting the XRE200 External Routing Engine to XRE200 External
Routing Engines and EX8200 Switches
An XRE200 External Routing Engine connects to EX8200 switches and XRE200 External Routing Engines
to form a Virtual Chassis topology. An XRE200 External Routing Engine connects to the management
Ethernet port (labeled MGMT) on the Routing Engine when connecting to EX8200 switches. XRE200
External Routing Engines connect to any Virtual Chassis port (VCP) when connecting to other external
Routing Engines.
The same cables are used to connect XRE200 External Routing Engines to EX8200 switches or to XRE200
External Routing Engines. Table 23 on page 60 lists the specifications for the cables that connect the
XRE200 External Routing Engine to EX8200 switches. Table 24 on page 61 lists the specifications for the
cables that connect XRE200 External Routing Engines to one another.
