Take the backup host subsystem offline. See the

T1600 Core Router Hardware Guide

Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect
the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.

Set the M/S configuration switches on each LCC-CB on the T1600 router before you
install them in the chassis:

Set the chassis ID switch on each LCC-CB on the T1600 router to

NOTE:

When you integrate an operational T1600 router with the TX

Matrix Plus router, you must assign a chassis ID of

0

to the router.

Set the

switch on each LCC-CB on the T1600 router faceplate to

Replace the backup T-CB with an LCC-CB on the T1600 router. Use the standard
replacement procedure described in the

T1600 Core Router Hardware Guide

7.

Replace the the backup Routing Engine with an RE-C1800 on the T1600 router. Follow
the standard replacement procedure described in the

T1600 Core Router Hardware

Guide

.

8.

Perform a graceful switchover to the backup by issuing the

request chassis

routing-engine master switch

command:

request chassis routing-engine master switch

9.

Replace the other T-CB (which now belongs to the backup host subsystem) with an
LCC-CB on the T1600 router. Use the standard replacement procedure described in
the

T1600 Core Router Hardware Guide

10.

Replace the the other Routing Engine (which now belongs to the backup host
subsystem) with an RE-C1800 on the T1600 router. Follow the standard replacement
procedure described in the

T1600 Core Router Hardware Guide

.

11.

Perform a graceful switchover to the original master by issuing the

request chassis

routing-engine master switch

command:

12.

Verify that the LCC-CBs and RE-C1800 are displayed in the output of the

show chassis
