SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read the operating instructions carefully before use! 

Please retain for future reference.

•  Always take appropriate safety measures. As with all power tools, the hedge 

cutter must be handled with caution. Do not expose yourself or others to 
dangers. Follow these general rules. 

•  Do not allow anyone who is not trained in using the hedge cutter to use it.
•  The hedge cutter can cause serious injuries. Read these operating instructions 

carefully on how to correctly handle, prepare, maintain, start and stop the 
hedge cutter. Familiarise yourself with all controls and learn how to use the 
hedge cutter in the correct way.

•  Never let children use the hedge cutter.
•  Avoid operating while people, especially children, are nearby.
•  Beware of overhead power lines.
•  Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery 

which can get caught in moving parts. Use protective gloves, non-skid footwear 
and safety goggles.

•  Stop the engine before:

 

– Cleaning the hedge cutter or clearing a blockage.

 

– Checking, maintaining or carrying out work on the hedge cutter.

 

– Modifying the working position of the blades.

•  Always ensure you have a safe and secure working position when using the 

hedge cutter, particularly when using ladders or similar.

•  Handle fuel with caution. Petrol is highly flammable. Never refuel the hedge 

cutter when it is turned on or the engine is hot. Do not inhale fuel fumes. They 
are poisonous!

•  Never attempt to repair the hedge cutter if you do not have sufficient 

experience.

•  Do not use the hedge cutter if the blades are damaged or very worn.
•  To reduce fire hazards, keep the engine and silencer free of debris, leaves and 

excessive lubricant.

•  Always ensure that all handles and guards are in place when using the hedge 

cutter. Never use the hedge cutter if it is not complete or if it is fitted with 
unauthorised accessories.
