DRILLING IN PLASTIC
1. Use a steel drill to drill in plastic.
2. Brace the workpiece.
3. Mark out the position of the holes.
4. Drill without pressing too hard on the tool.
DRILLING IN STONE, BRICK AND
MASONRY
1. Use a masonry drill when drilling in stone,
brick and masonry. Do not press the tool
too hard when drilling.
2. Mark out the position of the holes.
3. Drill without pressing too hard on the
tool. Drill at a normal speed.
NOTE:
Start drilling at low speed so that the drill
does not slide away from the drill hole.
The hammer drill can get blocked in deep
drill holes. In which case the drill or hammer
drill can be damaged if the torque is too
high. Release the power switch immediately
if the drill gets blocked. Set the control to
anticlockwise rotation and release the drill at
low speed.
USING AS A SCREWDRIVER
• Check that the bit is correctly inserted
before using the hammer drill as a
screwdriver.
• Make sure not to screw in the screws too
hard. This can damage the screw heads
or the thread.
SCREWING IN
1. Set the direction of rotation to clockwise.
2. Place the bit against the screw head.
3. Press the bit against the screw with a firm
pressure and screw in the screw.
DRILLING
NOTE:
• Only use drills intended for the actual job.
• Check that the drill is correctly inserted
and properly tightened before starting
the tool.
• Use suitable and sharp drills. Do not use
worn drills.
• Start drilling at low speed. If you are
drilling large holes, predrill with a small
drill and then finish off with a large drill.
DRILLING IN WOOD
1. Use a wood drill when drilling in wood.
2. Brace the workpiece.
3. Mark out the position of the holes.
4. Drill without pressing too hard on the tool.
DRILLING IN METAL
1. Use a steel drill when drilling in metal.
Make sure that the drill is always
sufficiently cooled with a non-flammable
coolant.
2. Secure the workpiece. The workpiece
should lie flat on the workbench.
3. Mark out the position of the holes with a
punch.
4. Drill without pressing too hard on the
tool. Drill at a normal speed.
NOTE:
Start drilling at low speed so that the drill
does not slide away from the drill hole.
The hammer drill can get blocked in deep
drill holes. In which case the drill or hammer
drill can be damaged if the torque is too
high. Release the power switch immediately
if the drill gets blocked. Set the control to
