Changing the batteries
WARNING!
To avoid false readings, which could lead to possible electric shock or personal injury,
replace the battery as soon as the battery symbol is displayed.
Replace the battery as follows:
1.
Turn off the instrument and disconnect all connections to objects being measured and input
terminals.
2.
Turn off the instrument.
3.
Remove the rubber feet and screws from the battery compartment and remove the battery
compartment from the backpiece.
4.
Remove the old battery.
5.
Replace with a new 9V battery (NEDA 1604, 6F22 or 006P).
6.
Refit the battery compartment and the backpiece and tighten the screws. Refit the rubber feet.
Changing the fuse
WARNING!
Only use specified fuses according to the following procedure to protect against electric
shock and arc flash, which can cause injury and damage to the instrument.
Replace the fuse as follows:
1.
Turn off the instrument and disconnect all connections to objects being measured and input
terminals.
2.
Turn off the instrument.
3.
Remove the rubber feet and screws from the backpiece and remove the backpiece from the case
front.
4.
Remove the old fuse by carefully prying one end loose. Then take the fuse out of its bracket.
5.
ONLY install one new fuse, which must be the same type with the identical rated data as the
original fuse (fast blow fuse, 0.5A/250V, 5 x 20 mm). Make sure the fuse is firmly fitted into the
bracket.
6.
Refit the backpiece and tighten the screws. Refit the rubber feet.
