Pulse recovery test program
The pulse recovery test is to compare your heart rate before and
after exercise. If you are fit and in good shape, your heart rate should
recover quickly. Normal heart rate recovery is defined as a decrease in
your pulse of 15 to 25 beats per minute. Abnormal heart rate recovery
is usually defined as a decrease of 12 or fewer beats per minute
•
After you have finished your workout, press the RECOVERY
button.
•
If you are not using the chest strap, put both hands on the
hand pulse sensor.
•
Your level of recovery will be given using the following scale:
1=Excellent 2=Very good 3=Good
4=Below average 5=Poor 6= Very poor
Heart rate safety feature
When setting up a program on the cyclo5, if you add your age the
computer may suggest a target heart rate at which to exercise. The
suggested heart rate is 85% of your estimate maximum heart rate.
Estimated maximum heart rate is calculated as 220 minus your age.
If the heart rate detected is equal or greater than the target heart rate,
the value of the heart rate will flash. This is designed to be a warning
for users to slow down or decrease the level of resistance.
