BIOS Setting
Select the serial ports’ I/O address in the Integrated Peripherals submenu (“Onboard Super IO
Device” section) of the BIOS. Refer to chapter 3 for more information.
2.5.3 Parallel
Port
The system board has a standard parallel port (Burgundy) at location CN3 for interfacing your
PC to a parallel printer. It supports SPP, ECP and EPP.
Setting Function
SPP
(Standard Parallel Port)
Allows normal speed operation but in
one direction only.
ECP
(Extended Capabilities Port)
Allows parallel port to operate in
bidirectional mode and at a speedfaster
than the SPP’s data transfer rate.
EPP
(Enhanced Parallel Port)
Allows bidirectional parallel port
op-eration at maximum speed.
