Figure 5-2 shows the potential communication problems that can occur when the necessary delay
is not provided, with messages clipped or lost entirely. The vertical lines signify various channel
acquisition delays. Without corresponding TX Audio delays, all speech up until the channel is
acquired will be clipped off of the beginning of the transmission (which could be an entire short,
but vital, message). If the proper TX audio delay is present, no speech is lost.
