7.8.1

Battery safety

Due to risk of fire or explosion the batteries shall not be short-circuited,
recharged, punctured, incinerated, crushed, immersed, forcibly discharged
or exposed to temperatures above the declared operating temperature
range of the product. The batteries in this EPIRB are sealed units which are
not hazardous when used according to the recommendations of the

manufacturer. Under normal conditions of use, the batteries are
hermetically sealed.
For information regarding the physical and chemical properties, the
potential health and safety measures and the environmental effects of the
battery used with this product, refer to the manufacturer’s safety
information documentation.
