Section 5 Operation
5.1 Login and Log Out
5.1.1 Login
The Administrator grants users workstation login privileges. When a new user logs in, the workstation software
automatically logs out the previous user. Log in as follows:

On the workstation software application’s Main Menu, select
File >Login
. The User Login window
displays.
2.
Click the desired user name in Available Users field.
3.
Type the password in the Password field.
4.
Click
OK
. The name of the current user appears at the top right of the workstation floor plan area.

File >Login
. The User Login window
displays.

Click the current user’s name in the Available Users field.

Click
Logout
. The user is logged out, but the Intelligent Fire Integrator
system continues to be monitored.
5.2 Display Modes
The Administrator configures how the workstation graphical user interface is normally displayed. If the
Administrator
allows it, the user can toggle between graphics and text display modes from the workstation View
menu. These display modes are described below.
5.2.1 Graphics Mode
In graphics mode, the workstation displays the Intelligent Fire Integrator system
as floor plans, point icons, and
real-time event information in tabular/list form (see
). The Administrator designs and implements the floor
plan that is used when the workstation is in graphics mode.
A floor plan is a drawing or imported file that is the background layer of the workstation screen. It serves as the
primary source for visual feedback for the location of an off-normal event in the system. It serves as a visual
representation of a point’s location in a building. The point types can include fire panels, fire protection points,
security points, and other equipment.
