CHECKS AND CONTROLS
BEFORE FIRST STARTING
Before starting for the first time, check that:
a the system is loaded to the right pressure and that it is well bled;
b there are no water or fuel leaks;
c the power supply is correct;
d the entire flue pipe has been installed correctly, and that it is not too close to or crossing flammable
parts;
e there are no flammable substances in the proximity of the unit;
f the burner is proportioned to the power of the boiler;
g the water on-off valves are open.
AFTER FIRST STARTING
After starting for the first time, check that:
●
the burner functions correctly. This check must be performed with special instruments;
●
the thermostats function correctly;
●
the water circulates in the system;
●
flue gas is evacuated completely by means of the chimney.
STARTING - SHUT-OFF
FIRST STARTING
After making preliminary checks, perform the following starting procedures:
1 open the fuel on-off valve (if present);
2 set the regulation thermostat (Fig. 2) to the value required;
3 turn on the switch upstream of the boiler and the main switch (Fig. 2) located on the control
panel.
SHUT-OFF
If the boiler will not be utilised for short periods of time, turn off the main switch (Fig. 2) on the control
panel.
If the boiler will not be utilised for long periods during the winter, it is necessary to add antifreeze to the system
or to empty the system completely to prevent damage from freezing.
REGULAR MAINTENANCE
Boiler maintenance must be carried out by qualified personnel.
The unit should be checked once a year before the start of the winter season. This check must include, in
addition to the cleaning status of the boiler, that all control and safety devices, as well as the burner, are in
good working order.
All flue gas discharges must also be checked.
