6. Getting Started
NOTE: The battery must be charged before using.
• Installing Camera Battery:
1.Open the battery compartment cover.
2.Insert battery. Be sure to load battery with + and –
terminals as shown on the camera.
3.Close the battery compartment cover.
• Charging the Battery
1.Make sure the battery is installed in the camera. Turn off the camera.

Connect the USB cable to the camera and your computer’s USB port.
Charging begins after a few seconds.
3.The recharge lamp glows red while charging, then glows green when the
battery is fully charged. (It takes about two hours to achieve a full charge.)
4.After charging is complete, remove the camera from the USB Data Cable.
Note: You can also use the USB to DC cable and AC adapter to charge
the battery. (see page 10 )
• Your camera is powered by a rechargeable lithium ion battery (NOKIA 82XX, 83XX
series).
• The battery is not charged when you purchase the camera. You need to charge the
battery before using the camera for the first time.
• It takes about two hours to achieve a full charge. Actual charging time depends on
current battery capacity and charging conditions.
• The camera can operate normally when battery is recharging. However, doing so
may result longer charging time.
• If the camera does not turn on, be sure you have inserted the battery correctly.
Match the + and – terminals on the battery and the camera.
