WCRAL Safety
• Caution: Take all precautions to avoid electric shock. Welding produces
20
to 100 volts. Even 50 volts is enough to stop a person’s heart.
• Javelin Welding Cable Reels are insulated. Insure that they remain
insulated by checking the insulators are in good condition and the cable
insulation is not cracked.
• Shrink wrap or apply electrical tape to all but the contact end of the
connection
cable lug
.
• Be sure cable lug contact points and WCRAL contact points are clean and
free of corrosion.
• When operating in winter conditions where road salt is used be aware
the salt can corrode electrical contacts. Clean contacts as needed.
Caution: Insure welding cable lug
is shrink wrapped to insulate
stem of lug from the reel
Check welding cable insulation
regularly and replace damaged
cable immediately.
