YPV40 is a traditional upright burning solid fuel boiler. This means that the fire burns vertically
from bottom up. The burning gases rise towards the top of the boiler and exit from the rear of
the boiler. Therefore the water on the top of the boiler is always hotter than at the bottom.
The high efficiency is achieved with the design and location of the heat exchangers and the
flame diverter plates (15 & 16).
In addition of logs, the YPV 40 can burn large wood pellets, briquettes, heat logs and even
coal. If using coal, the boiler needs more regular cleaning as the the coal deposits can block
the aitr flow through the cast iron burning grate.
NOTE !
Do not burn any materials containing varnish, glue, tar, creasote or other wood treatment.
These can create dangerous, explosive or hazardous gases and deposits.
They will damage the boiler and flue and if used, will invalidate the warranty.
To light the fire;
Place a small amount of paper onto the cast iron burning grate followed by kndlings and logs.
If the boiler is already warm, then you can also put in most of the logs first and before the last layer
of logs, put in paper and a small amount of kindlings. Add the last layer of logs on top.
4. EVERYDAY USE
Light the paper and make sure the primary air hatch (8) is open.
To add logs;
Open the filling hatch (6) and pull the flame diverter plate (16) towards you.
Use the supplied long metal scraper for this.
Add the logs, push the flame diverter plate back aginst the boiler rear wall and close the filling hatch.
Once burning, adjust the thermostatic air valve (4) to the desired position.

5. CLEANING
Safely store the ash in a non-combustible container and make sure the ash is completely cold before
disposal. The cooling can take up to three days.
NOTE ! Do not use water or chemicals to clean the burning chamber.
Cleaning of the boiler is done as required, usually once a month but this can vary according to the
wood used and the boiler running hours.
them to be removed when cleaning the fire box.
Open the upper cleaning hatch (5) and clear the ash from the heat exchanger surfaces.
Use the supplied ash pan to remove the ash from the bottom of the boiler, behind the lower hatch (7).
the boiler usage and fuel used.
Clean the boiler from the front. Remove ash and any unburned material from the burning grate and
the burning grate adjuster plates (18). There can be more ash behind these plates and we recommend
Chimney should be professionally swept at least once a year but again the interval is dependant on
Heavy construction and high grade steel gives higher thermal mass and extended service life.
