HOW TO REPLACE THE ELEMENT 

 

In case the element becomes defect you can replace the element. We advise you to consult or 
use a qualified electrician to have the element of your heater replaced. When ordering 
replacement elements always quote the model and serial number of your heater. Make sure you 
follow the instructions as outlined below.   
 
JAPIDI ENERGY keeps a full range of replacement elements in Inventory that can be ordered any 
time. You can also order a spare element in advance to avoid unnecessary delay in having your 
element replaced. To order please visit www.japidi.com. If you are unsure about how to replace a 
defective element, consult a qualified electrician.

CAUTION:

 When replacing the element, make sure power supply is disconnected, and that 

the heater body as well as the element are cool; 

2.  Unscrew the two side bolts from the mounting bracket and remove the heater body from 

the bracket; 

3.  Remove the round protection grids by gently bending them towards you and pull them from 

the holes; 

4.  Unscrew the screws holding the grated lid over the connector compartment of the heater 

and remove lid; 

5.  Unscrew the 3 screws on the side plate by the on/off switch; 
6.  Gently pull the side plate outward together with the electrical connector box/compartment  

and element holder with element; 

7.  Disconnect the two white element wires (4 wires if 3000W model) from the connectors. 

Make a note of the positioning of the wires. For the 2x 1500W units please remember the 
elements are to be in parallel connection; 

8.  Remove the element from the clips by pulling it upward and pull out with wires, you can 

leave the brown wire sleeves in place for protection or replace them with the new sleeves 
that are supplied with the new element; 

9.  Carefully position new element in place by pushing the wires down into the brown sleeves  

and cut and clean the wires to the same length as at the old element; 

10. Push the wires through the holes and press element carefully into the clips. DO NOT 

TOUCH THE ELEMENT WITH BARE HANDS. Use gloves or tissue paper or a clean cloth;  

11. Make sure the protecting sleeves around the element wires are positioned correctly and 

protect the wires entering the holes in the element holder; 

12. Connect the wires to the supply wires and the switch with the crimp connectors provided, 

exactly the same as with old element; Make sure you use the correct crimp tool to connect 
the wires with the crimp connectors;
