make sure that the IP addresses of the on-site mea-

surement devices (e.g. transformer station) are in the 

same range. Otherwise, reconfigure the IP addresses in 

the GridVis

®

 Collector (device mode) for each measure-

ment device to be read out.

Example "Assignment of IP addresses"

 · The computer with the GridVis software installed 

has the IP address 192.168.1.234 in the server 

network.

 · The GridVis

®

 Collector (server mode) has the IP ad-

dress 192.168.1.100 in the server network (network 

of the computer with GridVis software installed).

 · The GridVis

®

 Collector (device mode) has the IP 

address 192.168.5.254 at the measurement device 

on site.

In this example, the on-site measurement devices (e.g. 

transformer station) could be assigned IP addresses in 

the range from 192.168.5.1 to 192.168.5.253.

All on-site measurement devices that are not connec-

ted to a switch can be given the same IP address. The 

GridVis

®

 Collector recognizes the measurement devices 

by their serial numbers.

GridVis

®

 Collector in the GridVis software

After the IP address configuration of the on-site mea-

surement devices, register the GridVis

®

 Collector in the 

GridVis software.
Afterwards, measurement devices from your GridVis 

project can be assigned to the GridVis Collector in the 

GridVis software.
