Introduction
Janam's XT2+ includes Qualcomm’s “Snapdragon” MSM8916 CPU
with IZat Gen 8 support for concurrent GPS, BeiDou and GLONASS.
Unlike separate GPS modules, IZat is built into the processor itself
and uses a combination of positioning, Wi-Fi, and cellular signals for
triangulation.
In addition, IZat can access data from device sensors such as
accelerometers, gyroscopes or an e-compass. Software apps take
advantage of those capabilities to optimize positioning and even
provide indoor mapping.
Janam XT2+ GNSS Support
The Janam XT2+ provides high-sensitivity positioning both in standalone “GPS” mode where it
receives data from satellites directly, as well as in “A-GPS” (Assisted GPS) mode where satellite data
is related via cellular and Wi-Fi networks. In general, direct GPS provides the most accurate
positioning whereas A-GPS is less precise but quicker. The source of positioning data varies by app.
