To perform a soft reset on PDA keypad device:
1.
The PDA keypad method requires a Download of a registry key from

Select PDA Keypad in the XM70 panel (see next page for details)
3.
Simultaneously press the F4 key and the power button until the display goes dark.

Release both the F4 key and the power button.
Alternate method for performing soft reset:
1.
Remove the battery door from the back of the unit.
2.
Replace the battery door.
Important note on the Battery Door
XM70 mobile computers feature a
battery door removal detection switch
. This is designed to
protect against data loss if the battery is removed during data collection or processing. The system
will not fully operate when the battery cover is removed. As a result of this feature, XM70 devices
automatically create a safe state until the battery cover is secured, meaning a device will power-
down until the battery door is closed. It will recall and resume from the user’s most recent screen
when the battery door is fully in place.
