10.3 DECK LEVEL ADJUSTMENT_________________________________________________
Adjust the deck level so that the blade height is the same on both sides of the mower.
Park the mower on a flat and level surface. Fully raise the cutting unit. Rotate each blade until it is parallel with the
mower.
Measure the distance between the ground and the front
edge of all three blades. The distance for all blades must be
within 1/8 inch (0.3 cm) of each other.
To adjust the level of the deck, adjust the position of the
front- height nuts.
• Loosen the upper nut and tighten the bottom nut to
increase the distance between the blade and the
ground.
• Loosen the bottom nut and tighten the upper nut to
decrease the distance between the blade and the
ground.
Adjusted the position of the rear-height nuts as needed so that the blades are parallel to the ground.
10.4 DISCHARGE CHUTE CABLE ______________________________________________________
Adjust the discharge chute cable so that the discharge chute
completely opens and closes with the lever.
Disconnect the cable yoke from the discharge chute. The
discharge chute will move to the closed position.
Push the discharge chute lever forward to the closed
position.
Adjust the cable yoke until the clevis pin can be installed in
the yoke and the discharge chute. Additional adjustment can
be made at the lever end of the cable if needed.
Move the discharge chute lever to the open position. Check
that the discharge chute is completely open.
CAUTION
The cutting unit blades can have sharp edges. To prevent injury, use caution when you service or hold the blade.
Be careful when you move the blades to prevent pinching hands and fingers between ends of the blades.
When you rotate one blade, other blades can rotate.
WARNING
The discharge deflector is not shown for clarity. Never operate the mower with the discharge deflector removed.
